Within the framework of attending the 2019 G20 Summit, Japan’s GIANTY Group and Van Lang University had a signing ceremony and exchange of cooperation agreements at the Vietnam – Japan Investment Promotion Conference.
The G20 Conference is a high-level forum including leaders of executive agencies of 19 developed countries, leaders of the EU, a number of international financial entities such as the IMF, and WB… and leaders of some emerging economies. In 2019, Japan hosted the G20 Summit for the first time.
Receiving the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and his wife led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the G20 Summit as special guests and visited Japan from April 1, 2020. June 27 to July 1, 2019.
After the G20 Conference and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Japan, the Vietnam – Japan Investment Promotion Conference was organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam in coordination with the Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO). organized, attracting more than 1,200 Japanese and Vietnamese businessmen to attend. The conference took the theme “Promoting Vietnam – Japan Cooperation for Prosperity and mutual trust”.
Under the witness of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and member businesses of the two countries, Mr. Ho Tung Lam – Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of GIANTY Group, and Dr. Nguyen Cao Tri – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Van Lang University signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOU) on training, improving qualifications, recruitment and scientific research.
According to the content of the agreement, GIANTY will coordinate with Van Lang to implement main activities such as:
- Promote technological and economic development and support cooperation between GIANTY Group and Van Lang University.
- Technical cooperation and training, fostering human resources, and developing software in the high-tech industry.
- Supporting academic exchange activities and applying scientific research results to real life, and especially providing opportunities for 2,000 internships and work placements for Van Lang students in Japan every year.
The signing document between GIANTY Group and Van Lang during the high-level working trip of the Vietnamese Government in Japan opens up great opportunities for further international cooperation activities.
