In just three short days in early October, GIANTY’s 3D Motion team had a great opportunity to be directly guided by a famous instructor from Japan – Ms. Sakura Munakata.
Teacher 棟方さくらさん(Ms. Sakura Munakata) is a very special character in the Japanese market. Besides coming from a technical background, she also has experience in Motion Builder and Motion Capture. In Japan, Ms. Sakura has a leading position in the field of Motion Capture. Her appearance at GIANTY Art Studio has made Motion experts here both surprised and happy.
Even in Japan, inviting Ms. Sakura to teach class is not easy, due to her busy schedule and work. But GIANTY has tried its best to get this opportunity for you at Art Studio: this is an opportunity to help you significantly improve your skills when doing professional work in the customer lab.
GIANTY also hopes that in the future, it will bring more courses and more opportunities to everyone. At GIANTY, we value human development in both hard and soft skills. The concern of GIANTY leaders is clearly shown in this appearance of teacher Sakura.
The students said that before studying with her, they were informed about a Motion Builder master coming to teach Retarget. They did not expect that when they met her, they found out that she had 24 years of experience in the industry. This. Mr. Shingo Honda and Mr. Nguyen Anh Bang – Board of Directors – also added that it is not just the cost that can invite her to lecture. That makes the 3D Motion GIANTY team feel even more honored and fortunate.
Another impressive thing is that people did not expect that although she is old, she is very stylish, from her outfit to her personality. She is personable, approachable, and friendly, always full of energy. Professionally, there is nothing to discuss, there is a whole sky of knowledge!
Lategra is a large customer of GIANTY, specializing in organizing events for virtual singers in Japan and China. They use Motion Capture technology to create movements for 3D singers. This is a technology that attaches motion sensor points – also known as markers – to the actor’s body. These markers record the actor’s actual movements, and their job is to transfer the marker’s movements to position. Correspondence of 3D singers, and error correction, make the singers’ movements beautiful and smooth.
This step is called Retarget. It sounds simple, but correcting errors and making singers move perfectly is not simple at all. Before learning, GIANTY 3D Motion students only knew how to put markers into the 3D Model but did not know how to fix ground errors, ground gaps, slippage…, misalignment of body, arms, legs, shoulders…
However, 3 days passed so quickly, that everyone regretted not being able to absorb all the knowledge she imparted. After applying it to real work, you are determined to experience it gradually, hoping to be able to thoroughly understand the parts she teaches.
After this workshop, the 3D Motion team at GIANTY Art Studio was able to do the Retarget task more confidently, hoping to be able to meet the strict requirements of customers and bring Japanese, Chinese, and even Chinese audiences. audiences around the world for the most perfect, wonderful performances.
